What does Aijutsu do?
Aijutsu solves three problems for organisations: a lack of senior technical direction, initiatives that need organisation-level coordination, and a lack of capacity to deliver internal or special projects. We offer three services.
Technical advisory
Aijutsu provides senior technical opinion on a needs basis, for organisations that need it but don't need a full-time hire. We also offer advisory retainers.
Transformation journeys
Aijutsu facilitates organisation-wide technology change: migrating to or away from cloud-native technologies, achieving ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance, and adopting AI effectively. We bring demonstrated industry experience and a coaching-informed methodology, so the change lasts well after the engagement ends.
Bespoke development
Aijutsu builds software with AI-leveraged delivery: websites, e-commerce sites, internal tools, family bots, and fully featured platforms. Everything we ship is designed to be usable and maintainable.

Who does Aijutsu work with?
Aijutsu works with three kinds of organisations:

What makes Aijutsu different?
Aijutsu operates as builder-executives: leadership and management expertise, backed by hands-on engineering.

We organise around the business outcome that the implementation is supposed to produce, and provide capacity only when it serves that outcome. - Experience in highly regulated domains. Over a decade of delivery in government, cybersecurity, fintech, and cloud, including taking companies through ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II audits, and growing engineering teams from a few people to multi-regional.

Who founded Aijutsu?
Aijutsu was founded by Joseph Matthias Goh: founder, builder, and coach. Joseph has more than 10 years of experience delivering software products across the stack, from ideation and design to implementation and operations.
- Domains: government, cybersecurity, fintech, AI, cloud, infrastructure, compliance, and product.
- Scale: organisations from 3-person teams to departments of more than 100 people.
- Track record: built technology stacks from scratch and grown them to global scale, led compliance certification audits, architected service-oriented systems, delivered software products end to end, and grown many engineers.
- Coaching: a formally trained coach with experience in organisation development.

What does the name "Aijutsu" mean?
The name "Aijutsu" is the shortest version of our philosophy: three readings of "ai", sharpened by "jutsu".

How is Aijutsu involved with AI in the Heartlands?
Aijutsu created and maintains AI in the Heartlands, a hands-on course that helps everyday people use AI to build things for themselves and their communities.
The course applies the same principles we bring to client work. AI lets small teams achieve outsized outcomes, and AI in the Heartlands puts that capability in the hands of individuals and community groups. It is taught hands-on, so learners keep the skills after the course ends.
- Free for self-learning. Anyone may read the course materials and learn from them for free, under the Terms of Use.
- Workshops. Aijutsu runs paid workshops based on the materials, where learners work alongside others and get help applying the concepts.
